BLACK BAY P01: PAYING HOMAGE TO NAUTICAL INNOVATION AND DESIGN
The Black Bay P01 reflects TUDOR’s commitment to innovation. Drawing inspiration from the patented hinged end-link system on the original prototype, this watch includes a unique stop system for the bidirectional rotating bezel via a mobile end-link at 12 o’clock. The bezel’s locking and dismantling mechanism is a nod to the prototype nicknamed “Commando”, developed by TUDOR for seamless maintenance and enhanced durability.
The watch embodies utilitarian aesthetics, with its case being entirely satin-brushed for a matte finish, mimicking the pragmatic design of its historical antecedent. The brown leather strap accentuates the timepiece’s rugged charm, while the domed matte-black dial with painted luminescent hour markers enhances legibility, reflecting the functional requirements of the original prototype.
BLACK BAY P01: A FUSION OF ROBUST PERFORMANCE AND TECHNICAL BRILLIANCE
The Black Bay P01 boasts of the Manufacture Calibre MT5612. This self-winding mechanical movement features a bidirectional rotor system, ensuring an impressive power reserve of approximately 70 hours. The non-magnetic silicon balance spring protects the watch from magnetic fields, enhancing its performance and reliability.
To ensure precision, the Calibre MT5612 is certified as a chronometer by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute. The watch displays hours, minutes, seconds, and a date function, paying homage to the prototype’s utilitarian design while extending its capabilities for the modern user.
