TUDOR has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation, seamlessly blending tradition with contemporary design with its signature #BornToDare spirit. Take the TUDOR Pelagos collection, for instance – a masterclass in watchmaking, the Swiss watchmaker preserves history while paving the way for the future. Whether you’re a seasoned diver, a watch connoisseur, or someone with an appreciation for timeless craftsmanship, the Pelagos collection has something for every wrist.

Honouring maritime heritage

The Pelagos FXD is intrinsically intertwined with TUDOR’s storied association with the US Navy. For decades, starting in the late 1950s, the US Navy issued TUDOR diving watches with SEAL teams relying on these precise instruments from their commission in 1962 until the late 1980s.

Beyond the SEALs, these watches found their way onto the wrists of Underwater Demolition Teams (UDTs), United States Naval Construction Battalions (popularly known as Seabees), and Navy dive school instructors, to name a few.

The Pelagos FXD carries forward this maritime legacy with its unique features – the fixed strap bars machined directly into the 42mm titanium case speak of robustness and reliability.

To ensure its reliability and durability, the Pelagos FXD was developed in collaboration with active-duty combat swimmers.
The ergonomic, unidirectional 60-notch rotating bezel, which is fitted with a luminescent material-filled 60-minute-graduated ceramic insert, meets the ISO standard for divers’ watches.

In terms of aesthetics, the watch harks back to the TUDOR divers’ watches of the late 1960s to early 1980s used by the US Navy. Historically, US Navy divers often fitted their TUDORwatches with one-piece nylon fabric straps. The Pelagos FXD pays tribute to this tradition: The watch comes with a one-piece green fabric with a red central thread, along with an additional black embossed fabric-motif rubber strap.

Under the hood, the Manufacture Calibre MT5602 powers the Pelagos FXD and boasts a 70-hour “weekend-proof” power reserve. Designed for durability, precision, and longevity, it uses a non-magnetic silicon hairspring and is certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Control (COSC) as a chronometer, exceeding the institute’s standards with a daily variation of -2 to +4 seconds when fully assembled.

While the Pelagos FXD has elements similar to TUDOR divers’ watches from the past, the titanium piece is a modern construction through and through.
The Pelagos FXD complements the existing variant, which was first launched in 2021 as an homage to the Marine Nationale (French Navy), continuing a relationship that dates back to 1956.

Both watches are similar but sport slight differences. The abovementioned Pelagos FXD has a 60-notch rotating bezel, while the existing one (available in navy blue) boasts a 120-notch one. While the new version sports a steel caseback, the Marine Nationale piece features the navy’s logo on its caseback.

Fusion of Racing and Timekeeping

TUDOR introduced two yacht-racing inspired Pelagos FXD models, in commemoration of its first and long-term collaboration with Alinghi Red Bull Racing which began in 2022.

A time-only model and a chronograph, these Pelagos FXD “Alinghi Red Bull Racing Edition” creations mark several firsts for the watchmaker.

TUDOR has combined a high-tech carbon composite with titanium and stainless steel for the first time in a watch. Mirroring the cutting-edge blend of carbon, titanium and stainless steel used in the hull of the Alinghi Red Bull Racing AC75 hydrofoil racing yacht, the case of the two models and their bezel inserts are also crafted out of a high-tech carbon composite. TUDOR furthers this pursuit of material mastery by using titanium for the bezel, crown and chronograph pushers, and stainless steel for the case back and movement container.

TUDOR’s partnership with Alinghi Red Bull Racing gave birth to two Pelagos FXD watch models that sport elements of competitive yacht racing.
It is also the first time TUDOR has integrated a chronograph calibre into a fixed strap-bars case.

Featuring a 200-metre water-resistant case, these FXD models feature a bidirectional bezel with Swiss Super-LumiNova Grade X1 luminosity. They also display the Alinghi Red Bull Racing logo on the case back and with a subtle mention on the 45° angled flange.

The Pelagos FXD “Alinghi Red Bull Racing Edition” measures 42mm in width, while the Pelagos FXD Chrono version is 43mm wide. Both sport an Alinghi Red Bull Racing Team Blue matte dial and luminescent ceramic composite hour markers, making the watches perfect companions for maritime challenges.

The time-only model sports the Manufacture Calibre MT5602, also seen in its Pelagos FXD brethren.

In contrast, the Manufacture Calibre MT5813 powers the Pelagos FXD Chrono. Boasting a similar “weekend-proof” power reserve and silicon balance spring, it’s also COSC-certified and is built with a column wheel mechanism and vertical clutch.

Elegance meets functionality

The TUDOR Pelagos 39 merges urban sophistication with adept diving capabilities. Elegantly crafted from resilient grade 2 titanium, this watch, measuring 39mm, boasts a distinctive sunray satin finish on both its bezel and dial, offering a gleaming contrast against its brushed case.

Its ceramic hour markers glow with clarity in the dark, coupled with the iconic “Snowflake” hands, ensuring optimal legibility in low-light conditions.

At its heart is the COSC-certified Manufacture Calibre MT5400 – the movement, meticulously designed for longevity and precision and waterproof to 200m, is a testament to TUDOR’s commitment to excellence.

Complementing its aesthetic and functional appeal, the Pelagos 39 is equipped with a grade 2 titanium bracelet. Its unique “T-fit” clasp ensures easy and precise adjustments. Additionally, the watch is packaged with a durable rubber strap, featuring a titanium buckle, providing wearers with flexibility in style choices.

The quintessential diver’s watch

The timepiece that started it all, the TUDOR Pelagos is a cornerstone of the collection. With its robust design and proven reliability, it’s a testament to TUDOR’s dedication to crafting watches that can weather the harshest environments while maintaining unparalleled precision.

Equipped with the COSC-certified Manufacture Calibre MT5612, it offers a 70-hour power reserve and is durable and shock-resistant.

Inspired by TUDOR’s iconic diver’s watches from the 1960s, the Pelagos is handsome and versatile – both the classic black and matte blue versions are suitable for both work and play.

Rooted in its deep-sea diving heritage, it is designed to withstand depths of 500m and features a helium escape valve, crucial for saturation diving.

Readability is enhanced with square luminous hour markers and “Snowflake” hands. The titanium bezel’s ceramic disc also boasts luminous indicators, ensuring clarity in low-light conditions. Its titanium bracelet, lighter and more resistant to corrosion than steel, features an innovative auto-adjustable buckle, ensuring optimal fit during dives.

Made for lefties

The TUDOR Pelagos LHD (Left Hand Drive) may cater to a niche audience (read: southpaws) but does so with unmatched flair. Crafted with the same dedication to quality as its right-handed counterparts but with the crown on the left side, it showcases TUDOR’s commitment to inclusivity and attention to every detail.

Historically, TUDOR had manufactured such designs for diving professionals, most notably for the French Navy. Prior to this, left-handed divers had the inconvenience of wearing their watches upside-down on the right wrist, limiting functionality.

TUDOR also introduced a “roulette”-styled calendar disc, alternating between red for even days and black for odd, reminiscent of features found in its diver’s watches in the 1960s.

At the heart of the watch lies the MT5612-LHD, a variant of the Manufacture Calibre MT5612. It is COSC-certified and tailored for wearing with the winding stem on the left. It is precise and durable, ensuring an impressive 70-hour power reserve, with a waterproofness to 500 metres and featuring a helium escape valve.

The Pelagos LHD, encased in corrosion-resistant titanium, is substantially lighter than its stainless-steel counterpart. Alongside, its titanium bracelet boasts a patented self-adjusting buckle, designed by TUDOR, which auto-adjusts during dives. A supplementary black rubber strap enhances its versatility.

Similar to its right-hand counterpart, the waterproofness of the Tudor Pelagos LHD is guaranteed up to 500 metres and has been tested to 125 per cent of its capacity.
